  • 1.  ERA posting failure

How do you handle payers with the same payor ID but different names and fee schedules? For example, we have UHC commercial and UHC Medicare Complete, two different situations that we need to know about, including fee schedules. However, they have the same payor ID. This causes the ERA auto posting to not work on the Insurance called UHC Medicare complete because eCW ERA will pick the first Insurance with that payor ID and in this case the insurance will not match.

When I research in the Knowledge Base it seems to indicate this is the way it is with no solution. We either put ALL UHC under one insurance, which then does not indicate the difference for the insurance, OR we manually post all the UHC Medicare Complete. Neither is a practical solution.

Please let me know how your practice handles this.

    Thank you,
